What are the ways Versatile helps Clients hire full-time talent?

There are two ways we help clients: 

  • Full time hiring: The designer is a full-time employee of your company and on your payroll.
  • Full-time contractual role: It’s similar to full time hiring but on contractual basis. The designer works full time at your location but is on Versatile’s payroll. It's a great option if you require a designer for a short to medium project, or onboard a designer after being fully convinced by his/her work.
How long will the hiring process take for full-time roles?

For full-time roles and full-time contractual roles, it will take 10-20 days to close the role - this is exclusive of the candidate’s notice period.

Freelancing
How does Versatile help in hiring freelance talent?
  • Versatile helps onboarding freelance Sr. design talent for medium to Long term projects. The designer is in your design system, alongside your design team for 80 hours a month and 20 hours per week. We make sure the designer is available for 3 hours in your working days and a timesheet method is followed to track work done and time allocated.
  • The designer in this case works remotely.

How long will the hiring process take for freelancing roles?

For freelancing roles, a designer can onboard within 2-7 days. 

Can I bring Versatile contractual experts on-site?

In practice, there have only been a few instances where clients have felt it absolutely necessary to bring a Versatile expert physically on-site. If this truly is a requirement, we can work with you to coordinate relocating an individual or team to your location for a specified period of time.

What happens if a Versatile’s expert is unavailable for the days or times they are scheduled to work with me?

The design expert works in your design system as your team member. He/She is constantly in touch with you and your team. For the days, he/she is unavailable the expert shall inform you directly. The working hours are accordingly adjusted.

What information do you need from us to initiate the hiring process?

We'll complete a designer/developer persona sheet and delve into a comprehensive understanding of your company's culture. Additionally, we'll need your company details to initiate a contract

Testing & Screening
Are Communication skills ever an issue when working with a Versatile expert?

No. Each and every Versatile top-tier candidate is tested on communication skill. In fact, along with testing their technical skill, we rigorously conduct lengthy HR round interviews to ensure they’ve high level of proficiency in English and work ethic.

How does your hiring process work for full-time designers?
  • We screen a candidate on more than 50 parameters that have been collated after speaking with design managers of leading startups over a period of 2.5 years.
  • We also screen for communication skills, personality, and a high level of professionalism through an HR round.
  • The design experts with strong intent to join with no offer letter drop off promise are taken into consideration. We reject others.
  • All candidates are vetted by domain experts.

80% of our top-tier talent is based out of Bangalore. Rest, 20% is across Delhi, Mumbai, Pune and other cities.

Versatile’s Network & Services
Can I hire a full-time contractual worker from Versatile and bring him/her into our company on your payroll?

Yes, you also have the option to hire a full timer contractual designer and later convert the person to a full time position.

Who will be sourcing my candidates?

Versatile will be sourcing top-tier Sr. Designers for you. Versatile has been building relationships with designers over the past two years.

Can you help with building a design team from scratch?

Yes, we can help you with building a design team from scratch.

Intellectual Property
Who owns the legal rights to the work created by a Versatile expert?

The client. Versatile’s only business is connecting top-tier Sr. Product Design talent to the clients who want to work with them - not intellectual property. Our contracts provide that all work created by a Versatile expert is the property of the client, not Versatile.

How do we ensure that our IP is protected?

Versatile enters into contractual agreements with every member of the pool network. Through these agreements, the Versatile talent working on contractual basis enters into an agreement of ensuring IP is protracted. Under our client agreement, we also have clauses to protect your IP agreement. At times, we also have tripartite agreements to ensure protection of IP. This clean, simple, pass-through arrangement has worked well for our clients.

Pricing & Payment
How often will I be charged? How are payments and invoices handled?
  • Full time hiring, we charge a one time commission on a candidate's fixed CTC. We raise the invoice on the joining date of the designer. All invoices have a payment period of 15 days from the date the invoice is raised.
  • For freelancing engagements where the designer is in your design system for 80 hours a month, we charge monthly retainer on pro-rata. We typically invoice our clients once a month. All invoices have a payment period of 15 days from the date the invoice is raised.
  • For a full time contractual role, we charge a fixed monthly retainer fee. We typically invoice our clients once a month. All invoices have a payment period of 15 days from the date the invoice is raised.
What methods of payment do you accept?

We currently accept only bank transfers.

Is discovery of candidates 100% free of charge?

Yes, discovery of candidates is 100% free of charge.

Miscellaneous
Can I cancel a hiring process midway?

Yes, please notify the team on immediate basis to stop the engagement.
