Hiring engineers in India means screening for your timezone and protecting IP.

Most IT recruiters source engineers on cost. We source on working-hours overlap, IP clarity and onboarding completeness. Your engineer working India hours while you are building, IP assigned twice over, laptop on day three.

India has abundant engineering talent, but not all of it overlaps your working hours or understands IP ownership. We screen for both. Full-stack engineers, solid working-hours fit, IP secured by day one.

Teams building in India. First hire to full team.

General recruiting versus tech-specific hiring.

Hiring an engineer is not hiring a marketer. IP ownership, timezone fit and device onboarding are different, and most recruiters treat them the same.

General IT staffing

Engineering-first hiring

Timezone screening
Not screened, or mentioned in passing
Core filter, real working-hours overlap tested
IP ownership clarity
Assumed, often never discussed with the hire
Assignment in employment deed and MSA, twice over
Technical screening
Recruiter does a vetting call, maybe
Technical co-founder or lead engineer joins interview
Device provisioning
Laptop ordered after hire, arrives week two
Device sourced by day three, live before day one
Onboarding for IP
Standard onboarding, IP taken for granted
IP assignment forms signed by day two, documented
Source code access
Given after day one, assumption of ownership
Access gates on IP confirmation, audit trail kept

Day 30+
Engineering productivity ramp, timezone working well, no IP ambiguity

IP disputes in early-stage companies cost more than the engineer ever would.

A founder's engineer dispute over work product can block fundraising, stall product releases and demand legal intervention, all over an assumption made on day one.

When we document IP assignment by day two, the question is already settled and witnessed on our records.

IP disputes with engineers are expensive and slow. Getting it wrong on day one means fixing it after code is written. We get it right on day one. Calculate engineering-specific onboarding against standard in the EOR versus entity calculator, tech scenario.

Engineers hired for timezone fit and IP clarity.

Screening tests working-hours overlap before interviews start. IP assignment is day-two protocol. Device is day-three certain, not week-two hope.

Timezone overlap is not optional, it is screened first.

Before an engineer enters your interview loop, working-hours fit is confirmed. No more engineers saying they will adjust and then working 5pm to 2am India time. Real overlap, verified with references.

IP ownership is documented by day two, not assumed forever.

IP assignment deed is signed on day one, witnessed by us on day two and filed. When your engineer writes code on day three, there is no ambiguity about who owns it.

Technical fit is vetted by someone who understands code, not a recruiter.

Your technical co-founder or a lead engineer sits in on final interviews. Soft skills and culture fit matter, but we verify technical depth before extending an offer.

Device is live on day three, not day fourteen.

Laptop is sourced by day one, arrives day three encrypted and ready. Source code access is gated on IP confirmation. No waiting for IT to ship a device, no onboarding delays from missing hardware.

Non-technical recruiters selling engineers is how bad hires happen.

Moving someone across

Transfer engineering teams with IP ownership intact.

When engineers move from another employer or contractor arrangements, IP deeds transfer to our entity. IP assignment is re-confirmed as part of the move, no gaps, no ambiguity.

Hiring engineers in India the right way.

Eight questions engineering founders ask when they realise most IT recruiters do not understand what matters: timezone, IP and onboarding.

How do you screen for working-hours overlap?

We ask references about actual working hours the candidate has kept, check timezone preferences and confirm with the engineer themselves before interviews. Not vague intent, real past data. An engineer who has worked 2pm to midnight India time before will do it again.

What does IP assignment mean, and why does it matter?

IP assignment means clear ownership of code, inventions and work product. It is documented in your employment agreement and filed with us. Why it matters: in a startup dispute, IP ownership can block fundraising, slow exits and cost legal fees. Getting it clear on day one prevents that entirely.

When is IP actually assigned?

Day one is signature, day two is witness and filing. By the time the engineer starts coding on day three, the question is already answered and documented.

How does a US-incorporated company own IP from India-employed engineers?

The employment deed assigns IP to your company. The MSA between us and you assigns it again. Double assignment gives you two legal routes to ownership, one under Indian employment law and one under your home country contract.

What if the engineer claims they developed something before we hired them?

Prior IP is disclosed as part of onboarding. Any code, designs or patents created before day one are listed. If something comes up later that should have been disclosed, it is a contractual matter we handle.

How does device provisioning work?

Day one we source. Day two we confirm specs with you. Day three it arrives to the engineer, encrypted with security protocols. They unbox it day four at onboarding and it is live. No week-two wait, no borrowed laptop for the first week.

Can a remote engineer access our IP safely?

Yes. Access is gated on IP assignment confirmation. We provision access with audit logs. Every code pull, every repository access is recorded. Source code is on encrypted storage, and we track all access.

Do we need a separate legal framework for engineering IP in India?

No. The employment deed handles Indian law. The MSA handles your company's law. Most IP disputes happen because neither was clear on day one. We make sure both are signed and witnessed by day two.
