Is PEO different from Employer of Record in India?
Operationally they are the same. In US labour law, PEO refers to a specific co-employment arrangement under the Internal Revenue Code. In India, no such co-employment statute exists. The Indian equivalent is single-employer Employer of Record, where one entity (Versatile / Foo Falcon Pvt Ltd) holds the full statutory employment relationship. Both produce the same outcome: we are the legal employer, you direct the work.
Use whichever your procurement team is familiar with. US-based procurement teams typically default to "PEO". UK and European procurement teams typically default to "EOR". The Versatile contract is identical in both cases.
